Publishing Your Podcast: A Simple Launch Checklist

Publishing is where a lot of good shows quietly lose momentum. The recording is done, the edit is done, and then the admin swallows a week. Work through this list instead.

Get the artwork right first

Square, at least 1400 by 1400 pixels, readable at the size of a thumbnail. If you cannot read the title on your phone, it is too busy.

Write a description that a stranger would understand

Who the show is for, what they get from listening, and how often it comes out. Save the personality for the episodes.

Claim every platform, not just the big two

Spotify and Apple Podcasts matter most, but Amazon Music, Pocket Casts, Overcast and YouTube all bring listeners who never leave their preferred app.

Publish on a schedule you can survive

Every second week that you actually keep beats weekly for a month followed by silence. Consistency is the whole game.

Give each episode real show notes

A summary, timestamps, links to anything mentioned, and the guest’s details. This is what search engines read, and it is what listeners scan before pressing play.

Check the feed after the first episode goes live

Confirm the episode appears on every platform, the artwork rendered, and the audio plays from start to finish. Feed problems are far easier to fix on episode one than on episode twenty.

If you would rather hand the whole process over, that is what our publishing support covers.
